The browser ignores elements which are invalid whereas Outlook desktop tries to show/correct the invalid element.<br>The cause in this case is due to the pasted HTML containing a <strong>&lt;p&gt;&nbsp;</strong>element as a child of a <strong>&lt;span&gt;&nbsp;</strong>element. The <strong>&lt;span&gt;&nbsp;</strong>is an inline element and cannot contain block-level elements, such as the <strong>&lt;p&gt;</strong>, as child elements.</p><p>In the browser, the parent <strong>&lt;span&gt;&nbsp;</strong>element is ignored/removed from the HTML whereas in Outlook the <strong>&lt;span&gt;&nbsp;</strong>is shown ignoring the fact that it is invalid. Notice that the email appears without the spacing when viewed on Outlook Web. This means that any styles associated with the parent element will be shown; in this case, the parent has an inline style which contains&nbsp;<strong>white-space: pre&nbsp;</strong>. These styles will have been copied from the source data when pasted into the rich text editor.<br><br>This issue can be resolved by turning on the option to&nbsp;<strong>Clean up formatting when pasting from HTML&nbsp;</strong>(found in Configuration &gt; Advanced Settings). This is because with this setting on we remove the inline styles from pasted HTML while preserving the HTML structure.
