Sites in Halo can be set to be a stock location, this location may contain various bins that the stock is stored in. This allows you to effectively track and organise the stock you have.

Creating stock locations and Bins

Sites in Halo can be marked as stock locations. The sites you mark as stock locations will depend on where you have stock stored.

If all your stock is kept at one site/location, perhaps you have a 'stock room' at one of your office, this site would be marked as a stock location, but no other sites would. You can then use stock bins to organise/track the specific location of certain items at this site. If all your stock is kept at a location separate to any of your agents/users, perhaps at a warehouse you can create a separate site (perhaps called 'Warehouse') and mark this site as a stock location.

If you have stock stored across multiple sites you will need to mark each site that contains stock as a stock location. You can then use stock bins to organise/track the specific location of certain items at this site.

As a general rule any site that has stock stored there will need to be marked as a stock location.

Marking a site as a stock location

Head to a site profile > edit > in the 'details' pane against the site you will see a checkbox 'This Site is a Stock location'. When enabled stock will be able to be stored at this site.

Fig 1. Mark site as stock location

The site can be un-marked as a stock location by unchecking this box. However, if there is stock assigned to this site you will not be able to un-mark the site as a stock location until the stock have been transferred to a different site and there is no more stock being stored here.

You will notice there is also an option to set 'Stock location sequence', the sequence number entered here will determine where this stock location appears in lists. The smaller the number the higher in the list it will appear.

Now an additional tab will appear under the site titled 'Stock' here you can see all the items that are being stored at this site.

Stock Bins

If you would like to use bins in addition to stock locations to organise stock you will need to enable this globally. Head to configuration > items and stock control, see 'Allow selection of Site Bins in addition to Sites for stock locations'.

Fig 2. This just provides an additional level of organisation to your bins.

Moving/Transferring Stock

Once you have your stock locations and bins setup you can begin to organise your stock by location.

To complete a stock transfer head to products > select a product, here you will see the 'Stock Transfer' button against the product.

Fig 4.
